Radio Beckwith Evangelica is a local radio community founded in 1984. It is linked to the Waldensian Church, and is caratteratterizzata by attention to the territory, cultural activities, youth and social welfare. The station is named after the British General John Charles Beckwith, a veteran of the Battle of Waterloo, the benefactor who helped the culture and education of the Waldensian Valleys in the first half of 1800.The issuer is born in the wake of the spread of Radio Free after 1976, as a pastime and commitment of a group of boys. In the early years the transmission over the air was limited to the town of Torre Pellice, where the radio was located, proceeding in the following years the whole Val Pellice and Cuneo. The diffusion time passes over the years from a few hours to the initial 24 of 24 current, thanks to the gradual and continuous investment in personnel and new technologies, such as streaming, active since 2004 or DTT from 2010.Currently Rbe broadcasts 24 hours on 24, 7 days a week, thanks to the editorial team of 8 people and about 70 staff volunteers who deal with technical aspects of music and entertainment programs.
